Today was my second day at the Plage de Maguelone. An hour door to door for the cost of two Euros round trip. One of the perks are the free bikes waiting for you at the bus station. The ride to the beach is spectacular, via the salted marches and passed the Cathedral of Maguelone; a huge 11th C. romanesque edifice in the middle of nowhere, perched on a small hill and surrounded by a vineyard. A surreal experience to say the least. To my surprise the beach was almost empty once passed the small gathered crowd, cars are not permitted entry 2 miles prior, which may be one explanation. I yet have to experience it during the weekend, or maybe not.
A trip to the beach does not have to be an excursion anymore, I left at 9 and returned at 2. So far life in Montpellier is rather sweet
